this edition: revuelta al origen
We went back to the origin and it was not standing still. Edition 108 of Alma Negra returns to Espacio en Blanco, the studio of its first editions: five days, two studios, two teachers, two ways of seeing butoh.
A revolt back to the origin does not look for the beginning in order to stay there. It shakes it, wakes it, asks it what it wanted to be before it had a name.
the workshops
Laura Maillo, from Málaga — La danza ignorante. Cómo afilar los sentidos para pensar con incertidumbre (the ignorant dance: sharpening the senses to think with uncertainty).
Grau Torres Albá — Soulrealist Dance.
This time you do not choose one path: you walk both. On Saturday you work with one teacher and on Sunday with the other, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 to 7 pm. On Monday you choose whom to go deeper with. On Tuesday, from 11 am to 3 pm, we share the dance born in each studio and close.
the evenings
- Friday 4, 8:30 pm · the teachers present their work
- Saturday 5, 8:30 pm · short pieces (proposals to almanegrafbi@gmail.com)
- Sunday 6, 8:30 pm · Beatería, a performative evening by Jonathan Martineau and Matilde J Ciria
- Monday 7, 6:30–9:30 pm · jam in both studios
The evenings are open to everyone: €12 each. The jam also costs €12 if you are not taking part in the festival, and you need to book by email.
