cultural organization
shake
to introduce energy so that something new can happen.
in chemistry, to shake is very simple: to introduce energy into a system so that its elements, which wouldn’t mix on their own, come into contact. to change the conditions so that something new can happen.
I am not a producer by vocation. My passion is the stage — being on it, generating it, confronting it. If my career has come to include organizing events, it hasn’t been from a need to carry them out, but from a need for them to exist. Like the actor who wears the hollow of the mask to bring a character to life, I found a hollow in the cultural fabric and it was impossible for me to remain unmoved. Not my need. Our need.
The philosophy I put into practice on stage does not stop at the edge of the stage. To shake is not to program events: it is to choreograph temporary communities, to create the containers where something unknown can happen. Social identity also needs to be pierced by dance. The change I seek is not the one that is declared — it is the one that is embodied.
