Siempre estoy abierto a nuevas colaboraciones y propuestas.

International Butoh Dance Exchange”, «Butoh Camp Lab», “Ibiza Contact Festival”, “Ibiza Movement & Performance Festival”, “Namaste Connection Festival” (Argentina), “Ripoll es Dansa” y “Flow Festival Ibiza”.

«They told me and I forgot it; I saw it and I understood it; I did it and I learnt it.

«To educate is not to make people learn something they didn’t know, but to make someone emerge who didn’t exist.»

Why teach?
I couldn’t help it, I have been teaching for many years, and although it has been something that terrifies me, I have succumbed to it. Time and time again I have fallen into teaching, time and time again I have enjoyed it immensely. It has never ceased to terrify me and has always been a tremendous source of learning.

After many years of experience I still get as nervous as the first day; when I see workshop participants for the first time. Even in regular classes, with people I work with for a whole year or more, there are moments of great nervousness and excitement on many occasions.

I started professionally when I was 19 years old, while I was studying computer science I was offered a job to teach unemployed people and it seemed like fun, the salary made my mind up. I will never forget my first course, with students between 17 and 63 years old. Nobody had taught me how to teach and I was scared to death. I was lucky enough to do a good job and to receive warm affection and thanks from those people, including a farewell party.

Since then I have not been able to stop, first computer science and then the stage; acrobatics, unicycle, clown, physical theatre, contact and butoh, a lot of butoh. I have taught many courses and workshops in different parts of the world and I am always available to receive new invitations, like that A-team; if you can find me, maybe you can hire me.

Everything I know I teach. And it is only when I teach it that I understand that what I know, I can teach it.

REGULAR COURSES
Regular courses are an opportunity to develop your artistic and technical skills through the benefits of continuing practice over time. They allow the creation of work routines and the establishment of acquired knowledge.

These courses can have different purposes. They can focus on learning new skills or developing existing skills. They can also focus on scenic creation or they can simply be a place to maintain an active experience that allows personal evolution to continue.

If you think there is a need for any of these courses or you want to propose the start of one, please, do not hesitate to contact me. I’ll be happy to talk about it.

INTENSIVE COURSES
The intensive courses are an opportunity to enjoy an injection of life in your artistic experience. Whether to get in touch with my work for the first time or to deepen the practices I propose. I am always open to new collaborations and proposals.

I offer general purpose intensives composed of a miscellany of techniques from very diverse origins to give the participants a broad vision of the proposed work, as a contact or retake of contact. And specific intensives specialized in a particular type of work, to deepen in certain practices and create a formative line that participants can follow to complete their experience and skills.

my story… as a teacher

I started in 1999 teaching computer classes.

Between 2005 and 2010 I taught several courses of clown initiation and acrobatics (initiation and intermediate) for both adults and children, in intensive and regular format.

From 2010 I started teaching dance and physical theater classes with a very strong influence of butoh dance. I have given training in regular format, in courses of 3 months, as in intensive format of between 16 and 42 hours of duration. Between 2008 and 2016 I had taught more than 40 of these workshops in 7 countries. I am also committed to the trainings I have put in place, and I try to generate platforms where to put into practice and expand the knowledge acquired during the trainings.

I have been invited as a teacher to the festivals «Ex…it! International Butoh Dance Exchange», «Butoh Camp Lab», «Ibiza Contact Festival», «Ibiza Movement & Performance Festival», «Namaste Connection Festival» (Argentina), «Ripoll es Dansa» and «Flow Festival Ibiza». And also to «Kojoteki; butoh and experimental dance festival» and «Alma Negra; Iberian butoh festival», invited by myself to these last two.

Since 2015 I am synthesizing my own method of work with the name ni.butoh (ni.teatro ni.danza). I share my research through intensive workshops in different countries and regular classes in Madrid.

In 2019 I have launched, together with Jonathan Martineau the biggest training project to date. Aula Nostra, intensive training of innate butoh, 4 days a week, 9 months a year!
