Tu cuerpo es único y perfecto. Durante el Butoh Lab Camp redescubriremos nuestro cuerpo, a través de la danza y el movimiento. Exploraremos la libertad del momento presente. La guía y presencia de seis maestros de butoh nos dará la oportunidad de abrirnos a algo nuevo dentro de nosotros, de experimentar cómo vaciar nuestro cuerpo y convertirnos juntos en un cuerpo unificado, una exhalación, una piedra o el sonido del río.

Todos podemos tener nuestro propio butoh. Nuestros profesores invitados, con vasta experiencia, nos guiarán para acercarnos al butoh que llevamos dentro. Butoh te da la oportunidad de convertirte en alguien o algo desconocido. Haces un movimiento inconsciente, luego de repente sientes lo que estás haciendo, te vuelves completamente presente y te das cuenta de la unidad entre el universo y el momento.

CLASES:
El Butoh Lab Camp tendrá lugar del 22 al 30 de julio de 2023 (la llegada el 21 de julio y la salida el 31 de julio).

Yumiko Yoshioka es supervisora (también da una sesión).

Cada día habrá 2 sesiones de 3 horas cada una.

En caso de que Saga Kobayashi no pueda venir por problemas de salud, otra profesora de Butoh la reemplazará.

LOCALIZACIÓN:
En Rumania, en las montañas, al final de un pueblo llamado Măguri-Răcătău, en la cabaña La Ionel. La cabaña está equipada con camas estilo dormitorio y tres baños con duchas. Además, hay un estudio de baile y una gran carpa junto a un río, con su agua fría que fluye por las montañas. Está rodeada por la naturaleza salvaje con gran diversidad, inalterada por el hombre.

TRANSPORTE:
Tendremos uno o dos transportes el día de llegada (21 de julio) y el día de salida (31 de julio) desde Cluj-Napoca hasta el alojamiento de La Ionel. El aeropuerto más cercano está en Cluj-Napoca.

COMIDAS:
Habrá tres comidas al día con comida vegetariana y vegana. Un día organizaremos una barbacoa y una fogata.

Compartimos la visión de una sociedad libre de la gran crisis de valores en la que nos encontramos. Una crisis donde el valor económico está siempre y ante todo por encima de cualquier otro valor. Creemos que los valores humanos, culturales o ecológicos necesitan tanta atención como cualquier valor económico. Pero esta atención es muy desequilibrada, como desequilibrado es el verdadero valor y precio de cualquier cosa. En especial, sobre bienes intangibles como el arte, el conocimiento o la espiritualidad.

En Butoh Lab Camp vamos a trabajar profundamente en el arte del butoh. Trabajaremos para transformar y ser transformados en diferentes niveles, consciente e inconscientemente. Esta transformación puede tomar tan rápido como unos segundos o tan lento como algunos meses. Es una obra de un valor incalculable.

MICHIYASU FURUTANI
Nacido en Osaka, Japón. Michiyasu Furutani es un coreógrafo, intérprete y bailarín cuyo trabajo y expresión surgen de la técnica y la práctica del Butoh. En el proceso de investigación continua, ha desarrollado su vocabulario de movimiento para abarcar la improvisación y una variedad de técnicas de danza modernas y clásicas que forman la necesidad, la posibilidad y la contingencia. Furutani colabora frecuentemente con diversas disciplinas artísticas para ampliar el pasaje comunicacional e investiga constantemente modos de expresión y movimiento no previstos en el contexto interdisciplinario. Su interés es cómo los cuerpos y los objetos se adaptan a un espacio y conjuran un lugar desestabilizado a través de la exploración del campo de la gravedad, que afecta no solo al cuerpo en movimiento sino también al cuerpo estático como fuerza de unión examinando la alteridad, la empatía y la solidaridad.

CONAN AMOK
Director artístico / Coreógrafo / Bailarín

2008-2019 Perteneció a la compañía de Butoh “Dairakudakan” y estudió con Akaji Maro. Durante su carrera en la compañía trabajó en numerosas actividades como bailarín, coreógrafo y actor.

Los documentales en los que modeló y protagonizó han sido seleccionados y proyectados en la categoría de danza de varios festivales, incluido el Festival de Cine Documental de San Francisco, el Festival Internacional de Cine de Atami, el festival de cine Los Ángeles Lift-off, el festival internacional de cine de St. Louis, y como selección oficial del Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2019 (festival clasificatorio para los BAFTA British Academy Awards).

En 2010, fue un artista callejero con licencia oficial en Tokio y actuó en todo el país bajo el nombre de «Artista celestial».

Ha recibido subvenciones del Consejo de las Artes de Tokio y recientemente fue contratado para realizar proyectos por el Gobierno de Japón para la Agencia para
Asuntos Culturales, centrándose en proyectos de difusión de la danza en Yokohama

TASHI IWAOKA
Es un practicante/artista de performance de Butoh que vive en Ámsterdam.
Después de sus primeras experiencias con el Butoh en 1997 con Kazuo Ohno y Kim Itoh en Japón, Iwaoka practicó el trabajo corporal basado en el Butoh durante más de 10 años. Fue uno de los líderes del taller en eX..it! 2011.
Su solo ‘Becoming A Thousand Winds’ se estrenó en Moving Bodies Butoh y Live Art Festival Torino en 2019 junto a otros artistas de Butoh como Adam Koan, Marusika Marulyn Ronchi y Ken Mai.
Iwaoka intenta fusionar sus raíces orientales y perspectivas occidentales para formar una visión más amplia sobre «ser un humano» en este mundo.

HENRIETTE HEINRICHS
Nacida en Alemania en 1963, se convirtió en artista visual a la edad de 19 años, cuando comenzó a abrirse camino en la vida con aerógrafos, vestuario y escenografía. Luego asistió a la Escuela Etage de Artes Escénicas (Etage Schule für darstellende Künste) en Berlín, donde sus estudios incluyeron dos años de entrenamiento en Danza Butoh con Shanti Oyarzabal. Durante varios años fue alumna de Yumiko Yoshioka y Minako Seki, y durante ese período también bailó en su compañía, tatoeba-Théâtre Danse Grotesque (la primera compañía de danza Butoh de Berlín). Ha estado enseñando Danza Butoh desde 1990. MATILDE (JAVIER CIRIA)

Es organizador de dos festivales de butoh, Alma Negra FBI (11 ediciones diferentes ’15-’19, ahora en stand by por la situación de la pandemia), A Butoh Pelao (’21), Kojoteki festival de Lugo (’12, ’13 & ’15), y numerosos talleres de butoh organizados desde 2010 hasta 2017 con Ten Pen Chii, Yumiko Yoshioka y Joachim Manger, también con Clownidoscopio, Theatre Fueur Blau, Opera Ibiza, La fura dels baus, Batafurai, Theatre GötlicheSamen, Shahar Dor Company, noTchão y algunos otros.
Es profesor de movimiento y artes escénicas desde 2005. Ha impartido clases en numerosos festivales, Ex…it! Festival ’15 siendo un hito en su carrera butoh. Utilizando diferentes técnicas escénicas y no escénicas que aprendió a lo largo de su carrera, pretende lograr diferentes formas de afrontar la esencia de la danza y de la vida misma.
Ante todo se considera un comunicador.

En 2019 puso en marcha, junto a Jonathan Martineau, la escuela de butoh Aula Nostra.

YUMIKO YOSHIOKA
Yumiko Yoshioka es una bailarina y coreógrafa japonesa de Butoh originaria de Tokio. Desde 1988 reside en Berlín.
Yumiko fue miembro de Ariadone en 1974, la primera compañía femenina de Butoh, fundada por Carlotta Ikeda y Ko Murobushi. En 1978, realizó con Carlotta y Ko en París «Le Dernier Eden-Porte de L’Au-Dela», la primera actuación de Butoh que se presentó en un teatro público fuera de Japón. En 1988 se convirtió en cofundadora de tatoeba THÉ TRE DANCE GROTESQUE con Minako Seki y delta RA’i en Berlín (1988 – 1996).
Entre 1995 y 2015 fue miembro central de TEN PEN CHii art labor, una formación artística interdisciplinaria y experimental como bailarina y coreógrafa junto con JoaXhim Manger (artista visual) y Zam Johnson (compositor y músico).
Desde 1995 también ha puesto en marcha varios proyectos de colaboración en toda Europa como “eX…it!, Dance eXchange Festival” en Schloss Bröllin en Alemania, proyectos de danza con Gest-Azione, con Annalisa Maggiani de Italia; y creaciones de danza con Rena Konstantaki de Grecia.
Muchas otras colaboraciones con artistas y bailarines internacionales alentaron a Yumiko a desarrollar su propio estilo personal de baile y coreografía.

Your body is undivided and perfect. During the Butoh Lab Camp we will rediscover our body, through dance and movement. We will explore the freedom of the present moment. The guidance and presence of six butoh teachers will give us the chance to open up to something new within us, to experience how to empty our body and to become together one unified body, one exhalation, one stone or the sound of the river.

All of us can have our own butoh. Our invited teachers, with vast experience, will guide us to get closer to the butoh within us. Butoh gives you the opportunity to become someone or something from the field of the unknown. You make an unconscious movement, then suddenly you feel what you are doing, you become fully present and you realize the unity between the universe and the moment. 

CLASSES:
The Butoh Lab Camp will take place from the 22th to 30th of July 2023 (the arrival on the 21th July and the departure on the 31th July).

Yumiko Yoshioka is a supervisor (also gives a session).

LOCATION:
In Romania, in the mountains, at the end of a village called Măguri-Răcătău, at La Ionel cottage. The cottage is equipped with dormitory style beds and three toilets with showers. Also, there is a dance studio and a big tent next to a river, with its cold water flowing down the mountains. It is surrounded by the wild nature with great diversity, unchanged by man.

TRANSPORT:
We will have one or two transports on the day of arrival (21th of July) and on the day of departure (31th of July) from Cluj-Napoca to La Ionel accommodation. The closest airport is in Cluj-Napoca.

MEALS:
There will be three meals per day with vegetarian and vegan food. One day we will organize a barbecue and a campfire.

PRICE and VALUE:
We share the vision of a society free from the big crisis of values we are in. A crisis where the economic value is always and foremost above any other value. We believe that human, cultural or ecological values need as much attention as any economic value. But this attention is very unbalanced, as unbalanced is the true value and price of anything. Specially, about intangible goods as art, knowledge or spirituality.

In Butoh Lab Camp we are going to work deeply in the art of butoh. We will work to transform and be transformed in different levels, consciously and unconsciously. This transformation can take as fast as some seconds or as slow as some months. It’s a work of incalculable value.

We will always give our best; as organizers, as teachers, as beings. This is what we train in butoh, this is what we practice. Guided by respect we know that our best is different at any given moment, so that’s why we offer this sliding scale.

MICHIYASU FURUTANI
Born in Osaka, Japan. Michiyasu Furutani is a choreographer, performer, and dancer whose work and expression grow from Butoh technique and practice. In the process of continual research, he has developed his vocabulary of movement to encompass improvisation and a variety of modern and classical dance techniques forming necessity, possibility, and contingency. Furutani frequently collaborates with diverse art disciplines to broaden the communicational passage and constantly investigates unforeseen modes of expression and movement in the interdisciplinary context. His interest is how bodies and objects adapt to a space and conjure a destabilized place through the exploration of the field of gravity, which affects not only the moving body but also the static body as a bonding force examining otherness, empathy, and solidarity.

CONAN AMOK
Artistic director / Choreographer / Dancer

2008-2019 Belonged to Butoh company “Dairakudakan” and studied under Akaji Maro. During his career in the company worked in numerous activities as a dancer, choreographer and actor.

Documentary films in which he modeled and starred in have been selected and screened in the dance category of various festivals, including the San Francisco Documentary Film Festival, Atami International Film Festival, Los Angeles Lift-off film festival, St.Louis international film festival, and as a official selection for the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2019 (a qualifying festival for the BAFTA British Academy Awards.

In 2010 he was an officially licensed street performer in Tokyo and performed all over the country under the name “Heaven Artist.”

Has received grants from Arts Council Tokyo and was recently recruited for performing projects by the Government of Japan for the Agency for
Cultural Affairs, focusing on dance outreach projects in Yokohama

 He’s produced several of his own shows (include live streaming and workshops in  Japan ) while continuing his many guest appearances in TV dramas, movies, Music Video and theaters as a performer

TASHI IWAOKA
He is an Amsterdam based Butoh practitioner/performance artist.
After his first Butoh experiences in 1997 with Kazuo Ohno and Kim Itoh in Japan, Iwaoka practiced Butoh based bodywork for over 10 years. He was one of the workshop leaders at eX..it! 2011.
His solo ‘Becoming A Thousand Winds’ was premiered at Moving Bodies Butoh and Live Art Festival Torino in 2019 among other Butoh artists such as Adam Koan, Marusika Marulyn Ronchi and Ken Mai.
Iwaoka attempt to fuse his oriental roots and Western perspectives to form a wider view on ‘being a human’ in this world.

HENRIETTE HEINRICHS
Born in Germany in 1963, she became a visual artist at the age of 19, when she started making her own way in life with airbrush, costume- and stage-designs. She went on to attend the Etage School for Performing Arts (Etage Schule für darstellende Künste) in Berlin, where her studies included two years of Butoh-Dance training with Shanti Oyarzabal. For a number of years she was a student of Yumiko Yoshioka and Minako Seki , and during that period she also danced in their company, tatoeba-Théâtre Danse Grotesque (Berlin’s first ever Butoh dance company ). She has been teaching Butoh-Dance since 1990. At the same time, she had pursued her studies with many different teachers, including: Anzu Furukawa, Kazuo Ohno, Yoshito Ohno, Akaji Maro, Carlotta Ikeda, Ko Morobushi, and Atsushi Takenouchi, among others. As a professional choreographer, she has worked with the following Theaters: College of Hearts (Berlin), antagon theaterAKTion (Frankfurt), RAMM Theater (Schloss Bröllin).

MATILDE (JAVIER CIRIA)
He was born in Murcia in 1979. He is a multidisciplinary artist. His work is based on stage creation and has the role of director, performer and teacher. His career turned to butoh in 2007. He is the organizer of two butoh festivals, Alma Negra FBI (11 different editions ’15-‘19, now in stand by due to the pandemic situation), A Butoh Pelao (’21), Kojoteki festival in Lugo (’12, ’13 & ’15), and many butoh workshops organized from 2010 until 2017 with Ten Pen Chii, Yumiko Yoshioka and Joachim Manger, also with Clownidoscopio, Theater Fueur Blau, Opera Ibiza, La fura dels baus, Batafurai, Theatre GötlicheSamen, Shahar Dor Company, noTchão and some others.
He is teaching movement and stage arts since 2005. He has taught in many festivals, Ex…it! Festival ’15 being a milestone in his butoh career. Using different stage and non-stage techniques which he learnt in his career, he aims to achieve different ways to face the essence of dance and of life itself.
Foremost he considers himself a communicator.

In 2019 he started, together with Jonathan Martineau, the butoh school Aula Nostra.

YUMIKO YOSHIOKA
Yumiko Yoshioka is a Japanese Butoh dancer and choreographer originally from Tokyo. Since 1988 she has been based in Berlin.
Yumiko was a former member of Ariadone in 1974, the first female Butoh company, founded by Carlotta Ikeda and Ko Murobushi. In 1978, she performed with Carlotta and Ko in Paris ” Le Dernier Eden- Porte de L’Au-Dela “, the very first Butoh performance to be presented in a public theater outside Japan. In 1988 she became a co-founder of tatoeba THÉ TRE DANCE GROTESQUE with Minako Seki and delta RA’i in Berlin (1988 – 1996).
Between 1995 – 2015 she was a core member of TEN PEN CHii art labor, an interdisciplinary and experimental art formation as a dancer and a choreographer along with JoaXhim Manger (visual artist) and Zam Johnson (composer and musician) .
Since 1995 she has also set up various collaborative projects across Europe such as “eX…it!, Dance eXchange Festival” at Schloss Bröllin in Germany, dance projects with Gest-Azione, with Annalisa Maggiani from Italy; and dance creations with Rena Konstantaki from Greece.
Many other collaborations with international artists and dancers encouraged Yumiko to unfold her own personal style of dancing and choreography.
