I only make what I believe in
What I couldn’t not create
Creating is a human need. We are restless by nature, and if we don’t channel that restlessness it can destroy us. All children create; they have everything they need — infinite curiosity, flexible thinking, the capacity to dream — and no qualms about using it.
At 9 years old I used my brother’s computer to draw circles and lines from lines of BASIC code. Those were my beginnings in post-play creation.
I try playing with whatever I find: acrobatics, plumbing, carpentry, mechanics, theoretical physics, sound editing, scenography, video creation, dance. The mental process is the same. But it is the arts that help me ask the important questions, the ones that have no answer.
The arts disordered something so that it would stop being nonsense.
The human body is the essential tool I investigate.
